One of the best games that I've ever played, surpassing my previous
football favorite, John Madden Football. You can play this
game head-to-head or versus the computer. It's easy to pick up on -
all you need to learn are three plays and you can compete against
anyone. The graphics are excellent, and the play-by-play commentary
keeps you in the action. It's easy to score on some long pass-and-run
plays, plus you'll find the quarterback sneak is almost a guarenteed
first down. It has excellent control and game-play. Definitely a
game you must try.

Another great football game but it has several flaws, which, if
fixed up , could make it the game. The graphics are somewhat
blocky and choppy, and the control is somewhat sluggish, making it
slower than the Sega Genesis version. The game is relatively slow,
and I found that the computer was just too easy to beat, making it
less challenging when I wasn't playing against someone else. However,
beyond its flaws, the game has many redeeming features: it's a good
3D football game with various camera angles which make for excellent
instant replay action. Also, you can ask Joe himself for football
advice through real video scenes.

Probably the most popular and fast-paced basketball game currently
out on the market. It may not be the most realistic, but when I'm playing
all I want to do is dunk on my opponant anyway. You get to choose from
some of the best twosomes that NBA has to offer, including Tim Hardaway
and Chris Mullin, Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning, and Cleveland's all-
star duo of Mark Price and Brad Daugherty. In-game comments such as
"Boomshakalaka", "Is it the shoes?", and "He's heating up" add a lot to
the game. Once your man is on fire, you shooting the ball as soon as
you cross half-court. If you're trying to come back from a decicit, look
for the dunk on the break first, then start launching it from downtown,
keeping a steady thumb on your turbo button.

A fast-paced basketball simulation game which makes a game like
Bulls-blazers seem agonizingly slow by comparison. Is it real or is it
Sega? Factors like fatigue, fouls and individual defensive levels make
it as close to playing with the pros as you can get. The graphics are
nothing spectacular, but the level of game play makes up for it. The
game features270 of the NBA's greatest players, as well as three all-star
teams composed of legends of the past; it even has all this year's (94 -
kc) top rookie stars, including Chris Webber, Anfernee Hardaway
and Dino Radja. You can block dunks and lay-ups in this game - it's
about time. Marv Albert is the play-by-play voice of this game,
keeping the players involved. Try to stay off the speed boost button
once you get into the halfcourt game, as you'll pick up many unnecessary
charges.

If beat-'em-up games are your style, then this is the one for you.
In my mind a better game than Mortal Kombat I, the only flaw is
that you cannot do the same fatality moves, i.e. the blood and guts
version of MK I. Every fighter has his/her own signature moves,
from Midnight's ability to turn into a mist, to Xavier's Midas touch
move, which sill leave your opponant trying to figure out how to defend
himself. It's pretty well just MK I with a new cast of characters,
but the game flows more smoothly and the graphics are better.

Strictly a one-player game, this shoot-'em-up space fighter game is
an ace crackshot's dream. NOT a simulation game, just a good old-fashioned
blow-things-outta-the-sky adventure. The background graphics are
outstanding, with 3D polygon shapes. Your mission is to fly a spaceship
through 12 levels of increasing difficulty. Unfortunately, this game is
rather short. Each level offers you a different variety of weapons to
choose from. If you really like shooting-type games, then you'll want
to give Slipheed a chance.
